Brown University Human Resources
Brown University Human Resources (UHR) sought to unify its units under a single identity. As part of the broader Brown system, I developed a distinct visual approach to position UHR as a central resource across the university. While the logo followed the university’s affinity guidelines, I created a bold typographic treatment for their tagline—“Engage, Discover, Achieve”—to reflect the department’s breadth and diversity of employees.
The system builds on Brown’s core palette of red, yellow, and black, with darker tones adapted for digital accessibility. Typography centers on geometry for its clarity and strength. I also developed a custom icon set for each UHR unit, collaborating closely with teams to define their visual markers.
To round out the system, we curated photography that highlights people, campus moments and recognizable details to foster pride and connection. I also designed a suite of launch materials, including a newsletter template, print collateral and digital assets.
